Das erzählten mir unsere Leute
alte und erfahrene, die vordem waren,
dass mein Vater Hildebrand hieße; ich heiße Hadubrand.
In der Vorzeit ging er nach Osten, floh er (vor) Odoakers Hass,
hin mit Dietrich und vielen seiner Degen (Krieger).
Er ließ im Lande gering (elend; oder: die Kleine) sitzen,
die junge Frau im Hause und ein unerwachsenes Kind,
erblos.

Mijn eerste bijbaan! (en meer)

Dopo secoli che non scrivo sul blog (lo ammetto, non sono mai stata molto produttiva in ste cose ma ci tengo a tenere questo blog attivo) è arrivato il momento di raccontare del mio primo bijbaan! Innanzitutto, bijbaan è un termine olandese per indicare un lavoretto che si fa accanto a un'altra attività, come ad esempio lo studio, per guadagnare qualche soldino. Il mio bijbaan è fare la postina (posbezorgster) in una zona in centro ad Amsterdam. Domani sarà il mio secondo giorno di lavoro e devo dire che non mi dispiace! Accanto a questo do anche lezioni di italiano a un simpaticissimo signore francese che vive ad Amsterdam. E accanto a tutto questo sto iniziando a studiare (dovrei avere un parziale nella seconda metà di ottobre)... arriverò viva a fine semestre? :D

I haven't written on my blog for ages (I admit it, I've never been very productive in this kind of things but I really want to keep this blog alive), so it's time to tell you something about my first bijbaan! First of all, bijbaan is a Dutch word to define a job next to another activity, for example your studies, in order to gain some money. My bijbaan is to be a "postgirl" (posbezorgster), I deliver the mail in an area in the center of Amsterdam. Tomorrow it's gonna be my 2nd day at work and  I gotta say that it's not that bad! Besides that, I also give Italian lessons to a fun French man who lives in Amsterdam. And besides all of this I am beginning to study (I should have a part of an exam in the 2nd half of October)... will I survive the first semester? :D
